Cardio IQ® Lipoprotein Fractionation, Ion Mobility
Fasting Required: Preferred, but not required.

Specimen: Blood

Results: 7-10 Business Days

Description: Determines abnormal distribution and concentration of lipoproteins in the serum which is an important risk factor in the development of coronary artery disease (CAD). Studies have shown that CAD is inversely related to LDL cholesterol (LDLC) particle size. An electrophoretic pattern demonstrating the presence of small, dense LDL particles (non-A) carries a threefold risk for developing CAD over the presence of larger, more buoyant LDLC particles

Includes: LDL Particle Number; LDL Small; LDL Medium; HDL Large; LDL Pattern; LDL Peak Size

Methodology: Ion Mobility

Alternative Name(s): IDL Subfractions, Cardio IQ®, Cardioiq, Lipoprotein Fractionation, Ion Mobility, Cardio IQ®, VLDL, Lipoprotein Fraction, HDL Subfractions, Cardio IQ®, VLDL, Cardio IQ®, LDL Subfractions, Cardio IQ®
