Interleukin-4 (IL-4)
Fasting Required: No

Specimen: Blood

Results: 12 - 14 Business Days

Description: A type of biological response modifier (a substance that can improve the body's natural response to infection and disease) that enhances the ability of the immune system to kill tumor cells.

IL-4 has an important role in regulating antibody production, blood formation and inflammation, and the development of effector T-cell responses. This cytokine can elicit many responses, some of which are associated with allergy and asthma. Therapeutic strategies targeting IL-4 and its signaling pathways are currently being tested to treat allergy and asthma.

Methodology: Multiplex Array Format with Meso Scale Discovery (MSDĀ®)
