Description: Blood levels are used to evaluate anemia and deficiency. High transferrin levels are found in iron deficiency, pregnancy, and in those taking birth control pills. It is low in liver disease, kidney disease, cancer, chronic inflammation, hereditary transferrin deficiency, or when there are excessive amounts of iron in the body.
